Changes for children travelling alone.

Changes for children travelling alone.

Air New Zealand has announced a change to their unaccompanied minor policy for bookings, effective 29 March 2021.

For Domestic New Zealand travel, Air New Zealand requires unaccompanied minors to have a booking with checked baggage. Therefore the minimum fare to be booked is a Seat+Bag fare. This will enable the cabin crew to maintain safety onboard by ensuring young travellers are not boarding with large items where space is limited.

For Trans Tasman and Pacific Island travel, Air New Zealand requires unaccompanied minors to have a booking with a meal and inflight entertainment. Therefore the minimum fare to be booked is a Works fare. For young travellers, the process of early check-in, waiting to board and the flight, it can make for a long day. Air New Zealand would like to ensure the trip is an easy one.
