Ready to return home to the Land of the Long White Cloud, travelling to visit family and friends or in need of a fresh catch of snapper and chips, whatever the reason for your travel to New Zealand, we can help get you here.
GETTING TO NEW ZELAND
There are several airlines with just one stop between European airports and New Zealand. Most fly into Auckland, although Singapore airlines also fly direct into Christchurch.
Our recommended options from the UK or Europe are Singapore Airlines via Singapore, Emirates via Dubai, Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong and Qatar via Doha and Brisbane. See below for details on what to expect in transit.
Airfares are changing all the time so it’s difficult to give any accurate pricing here. Best way is to add your preferred dates and kick off a search.
For a little peace of mind, most airlines have a flexible travel policy in place, meaning if you need to amend your travel dates due to border restriction changes, these are offered without any airline fees. Any additional fare or tax changes will still apply if applicable
WHAT DO I NEED TO TRAVEL TO NEW ZEALAND?
Aside from your valid New Zealand passport or residency visa there are a couple of extra steps that you now need to have arranged before you travel.
- A Managed Isolation Voucher
If you are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident visa holder for New Zealand you don’t need to apply to return to New Zealand, but you do need to have a Managed Isolation Allocation System (MIAS) voucher.
Rooms are limited and can be pretty hard to get. We recommend getting this sorted before you book your flights.
Click here to go to the MIQ website to view availability, create your account, view costs and for further information on the MIAS system.
*Our top tip - Create your account early so you can just login and book quickly when you are ready and rooms become available. Rooms are released in batches. Keep an eye on the MIQ site or our facebook page, we’ll post when we are advised of any new rooms released.
- A negative Covid-19 test
All travellers arriving into New Zealand from the UK or Europe will require a negative Covid-19 test. You need to have had both your COVID-19 sample taken and your result returned no more than 72 hours before the scheduled departure time of your first international departure.
You will need to provide this in order to check in for your flight as well as on arrival into New Zealand.
Click here for more information on what type of tests are accepted and what you will need to show as proof or these.
You should check airline and country pre-departure testing requirements for every country you are going through on your journey to make sure you comply with them all, not just New Zealand’s.
Our customer service team is based in Christchurch, New Zealand. They are available from 8.30am until midnight Monday to Friday and 9am to 5.30pm on weekends and public holidays. That’s NZ local time so add 11 hours from the UK. You can email them anytime on email@example.com
